Chalcedony

Chalcedony is a derivative of Quartz that is compact and cryptocrystalline, ocurring in many forms, colors, and patterns. The name derives from antiquity times and may originate from an Asia city. Gemstone industrialists may use the term Chalcedony to describe the white, gray, or blue translucent type of Chalcedony, while many varities exist including Aventurine, Heliotrope, and various agates.
